Wrightsville Beach CYC is hosting the Nationals in 2 weeks, also there is a good schedule on the CYC website for what is going on this summer. You won't be disappointed.
At least we Americans dont have to worry about getting eaten by a great white shark, and speaking with a funny accent.
We're the koolest country in the world because the three most powerful people in world are Bush, Dick and Colon.
I was clocked at 19knots by the local Wildlife Commission, he pulled up beside me at a full plane and asked if I needed assistance, I smiled and asked how fast I was going, he said 19 knots. :D
After the clinic this summer, Ben Richards recommended keeping the board most of the way down, off the wind. I now sail at max with the board up 12" usually less. I think the boat tracks better, and makes use of whatever puffs come through to make the boat go in the direction you point it...
CFYCNC, has the round Oak Island Race, its brutal, 26.5 miles, half in the ocean and half in the ditch. It is open to laser and sunfish. Sept. 11th, 2004 0900, in Southport NC.
Mr. Bush, I mean Mr. Kirkpatrick, Benson meant that the cloth is not what is to be considered "racing sail quality material" Just give us the #s so we all that are so anal and who bought North sails can sleep at night knowing our sails are of the same quality as the competitor. Give the #s...
Yeah the archives are a small piece of the puzzle. According to Benson, they use inferior cloth, However I would still like to see the #s between the two companies. I would be curious to see the cloth orientation as well. Anyway it appears Mr. Kirkpatrick is not going to reply, so no use in...
I don't care if Dave's data is bias or not, I just want to see it. I bet both companies have plenty of hiccups in their processes and would not be proud of their #s. Sort of like when you worked at a resturant, you want people to eat there but you your self don't because you know what goes on...
Mr. Kirkpatrick, Would you be so kind to
tracking down some actual data on sail cloth QC/measurement checks between Contender and North (along with the dates of the checks) and lets see who runs a tighter ship/weave/thread count/resin content, etc etc and post the specs and their tolerances...
Ed Baird, cause he crushed me and a buddy when I was 14, back in 84' on Lake Norman. He was tacking upwind in 20 knots like a mad man. Of course I was clueless.
Gary Jobson because he is personable and a great sailor,
Dennis Baby! Gotta pull for the man!
