I am the new owner of 204211!
Rake is 151" i measure with the lower only in, from the top of the lower to the sheer of the stern.
This is definitely further forward than my old boat which was 150
Boat came with painted boards. Look pretty good some orange peel but not too bad.
Hi everyone, after a long hiatus i am going to try to buy a new boat , does anyone have any experience with the new awlgripped boards? Sand them? Any comments on prep work.
And if any can comment on how even the rake is on 2012 boats that is what i am buying.
I hear it is very consistent but...
Actually it is the other way around. A lighter, taller, physically fit person who can hike the boat well (anaerobic strength static position hold, like a wall sit) combined with the sheeting, steering and wave torqueing body movements you see in 15+ (an/aerobic fitness like nordic skiing) on...
Actually it does matter, because the all up weight of a Laser is very very low. So a 20 lb difference will be alot. On a keelboat, it is fixed, but on a laser it effects everything. The all up weight will change the ratios of sail area to displacement. As will something like hearing hiking pants...
I decided to try a very crude mathmatical analysis....to confirm what we all think about weight range...
Does anyone know exactly what the boom, upper and lower sections weigh? I also need the rudder and the CB.
I am sure it is buried in the Class Book, just too lazy to search thru the...
If any cares i am down to 92 kilos!.....my goal is 86 kilos. I am 37 years old, 176 cm, 5'9.5". I also want to be able to hike in breeze, so i am lifting and biking...
I started at 98.5.
My goal is to have a chance at those pesky "pinners" at club summer events in D11 or D10 in the USA
I think the big things are to identify where your weight is and how much heel you have and get it in the right spot. At 97 kilos at my max, if i was very disciplined with where my where core was, I could be pretty competitive.
Example given, 8 knots, shoulders at front edge of cockpit, legs...
Fantastic Post, thank you. I have won local or regional events at 86/87 kg in D10/D11 in the US. I am 93 right now due to the amount of office work i am doing and am working pretty hard to get to 85/86 range for mid summer here which is june thru Sept....
I did do one event in the 96 range...
Can you guys chip in with what you consider with a competitive weight for a master sailor, 5"10?
By competitive i mean able to win District Level events at least.
I am 200lbs, 5'10" with afro. that makes me stout. I also get hot easier and sweat above average. i have big meaty thighs and a large shoulder and chest measurement, i am a 35 waist. i am not fat, but i am not a pinner either. I lift and ride a bike 3x a week.
This year i bit the bullet and...
