Looking for capri sailors who want to make a regular event out of sailing in dye's inlet. If you just want to ride along that would be fine too. Kitsap County, Washington State.
Sailing out of Dyes Inlet into Port Washington Narrows the tidal currents reach 4 knots we sailed into it an hour after the tide began flowing in the currents stalled us, we turned out and aided by 10 - 15 kt winds and the current we were able to achieve incredible boat speed! Que bueno...
I am wondering what everyone uses for sailing gear. Keep in mind the balmy PNW has waters that fluctuate between 45F and 50F, so keep in mind that I like warmer gear. I am interested in trousers and a spray top specifically.
My goal is that this is comprehensive.
If it is then it may be of some help to sailors who get too excited and start forgetting things (myself).
If it is not then additions would be very helpful.

I notice that as the boat gradually heels over more, the rudder is eventually brought out of the water and she turns into the wind.
What is the max windspeed that is practical with a C14? I was out in 10-20 with a buddy today. Is this where I should be entertaining a reef point then?
