I've never really heard of a rivet breaking unless the eye strap isn't strong enough. But while we're on the subject of booms, does anybody else's boom bend a lot when they have the vang on hard. Mine does and it looks funny. In fact, one of my friends has a permanetly bent boom from too much...
I have the new rigging system and I want to upgrade to the 6:1 outhaul, the one that has two single blocks at the goosneck. Does anybody know how to rig this? How much line do I need, how do I tie everything, ect.

are you saying wax is good or bad. i sanded a small part of my hull, but how do i get it to shine again
as for making the boat slippery, i like teflon. it's the exact opposite of wax- nothing sticks, not even water
what about you're radial sail (mk5/wo blue) isn't getting good shape. you have to go easy on the vang or you'll hook the leach. if you wanna put the draft forward, you need A Lot of cunningham. don't 2 block the main either, you can get pretty close, but unless it is really blowing, don't 2...
sailing by the lee is great in light air especially. you let the boom out past 90 degrees and you can heel the boat and keep the boom out. you can also stay on one jibe the entire run and go way to the inside to get inside
New Zealand just pushed the limits of the rig too far.
Their boom: they tried to get less weight with the small portion at the back, but it wasn't strong enough and snapped.
Their mast: i heard something about a new spreader/side stay set up they tried but it wasn't strong enough. Also...
