For not losing the Wind Indicator, i have seen people take fishing line and tie in around the wind indicator and then tie the other end on the top of the sail or tie it off on the bottom of the mast, it more than likely will fall in but you won't lose it.
i would have to say my best and favorite wind indicator is my index finger, since there is always water in my cockpit, i dip my finger in and hold it up, it's always there too and never falls off...
you might want to check where your daggerboard is on the bottom, i have seen boats leak in from there because they have the daggerboard down and go onto a beach and it can crack it.
well you would DEFINATELY go full rig, if you have a lot of upper strength you may want to consider a Finn, normally their fleets aren't as big but they are made for a bigger guy like yourself.
You Might want to check out the drLaser site at www.drLaser.org, click in a few times and go into the Maintenance & Fitness section. It's Under Fixing Hull Scratches- Sanding & Polishing (Wallance).there are a few good articles up there for re-finishing and buffing the hull that you may want...

Does anyone know if anyone from the forum is at the national laser championships that are currently going on? i was at my yacht club today which is North Cape Yacht Club in Southeast Michigan and had noticed a bunch of people up there and found out it was the championships and was wondering if...
Ok i know this may sound funny, but i had taken off the bottom part on the hull for my auto-bailer to clean it out. there was only 1 screw and such to hold it in but after i took it off, i had reassembled it the way it should be and when i had screwed it back into the boat the part tward the bow...
