how to weigh a Sunfish?

What is the easiest method of weighing my Sunfish

With 2 people, turn the sunfish on its side and place it on a bathroom scale on a solid surface. A pre-1990 Sunfish should weight about 135 lbs.

^that's what I did,only I placed a small piece of 2x4 on the scale to distribute the weight on the side of the boat,didn't want all the weight on the thin aluminum edge,for both the scale and the boats sake.

2x4 may make sense. The boat will be OK, but the scales may not.
