I am considering leaving my laser on a carpeted floating dock for this upcoming season, rather than have it sit on a dolly. Is this bad for the hull? Should I turn it upside down so the dinghy rests on the deck? .
Seeing as no one else has piped up....
The deck isn't flat from bow to stern, flip it and you'll notice the slight rocker - it will have all it's weight on the bow tip or bow fairlead and the quarter fairleads.
Sitting on a carpet - is great until crap gets blown around, the boat will rock in any breeze.
If you prefer to turtle it then maybe three or four tyres with a bit of carpet on them - tyres alone leave rubber marks which you'll have to clean off.
My view - best off tied down on her trolley with a decent cover properly fastened, cockpit and transom bung open
