I just bought a 1985 Capri 14.2. It is in pretty good shape, but I am going to have to replace all of the rigging. Is this something I can do myself, or should I have a pro do it? Is there a technical manual that will give me details on the rigging configuration, the boat is standard with a main and jib. Thanks.

I have re-rigged my running and standing rigging with no problems. It you use common sense and are good with your hands, its no big deal. If you're replacing the forestay and shrouds, buy those Catalina. My 2 cents.

Standing Rigging

Replaced my rigging last year and just ordered from Catalina Yachts. Very easy to do in an afternoon with minimal tools. May need to buy some stainless steel wire to attach the side stays to the spreaders, but the tangs and stays are one piece.
